For decades, the mystery surrounding unidentified flying objects has usually been framed as a question of science, national security, or extraterrestrial life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vice President J.D. Vance has introduced a very different possibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During a March 2026 appearance on The Benny Show<\/em>, Vance said he had become \u201cobsessed\u201d with the subject of UFOs after entering office. But when asked what he believed might be behind unexplained aerial phenomena, his answer was not little green men, secret spacecraft, or visitors from another planet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI don\u2019t think they\u2019re aliens,\u201d Vance said. \u201cI think they\u2019re demons.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vance described his view as rooted in Christianity\u2019s understanding of a spiritual universe containing both good and evil beings. He also expressed interest in examining classified UFO material and said he hoped to investigate the subject more deeply while serving in government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is an extraordinary statement from a sitting vice president.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But is it merely religious speculation\u2014or could it reflect a possibility that modern culture has been too quick to dismiss?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What Vance Appears to Mean<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Vance was not claiming that every unexplained light, military radar anomaly, or strange object in the sky is demonic. Many UFO reports ultimately have ordinary explanations, including balloons, drones, aircraft, satellites, atmospheric effects, and errors in observation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His argument concerned the smaller category of experiences that appear genuinely unusual and sometimes include descriptions of intelligent beings, paralysis, missing time, frightening encounters, telepathic communication, or apparent violations of conventional physics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rather than assuming such experiences involve biological travelers crossing enormous distances from another planet, Vance suggested that some might belong to the spiritual realm described by Christianity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nevertheless, certain biblical passages provide a framework through which some Christians interpret the phenomenon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Bible Describes a Populated Spiritual Realm<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Modern culture often imagines the universe as divided into two categories: physical things that exist and imaginary things that do not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Bible presents a more complicated reality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It describes intelligent nonhuman beings\u2014including angels, fallen angels, principalities, powers, cherubim, and other spiritual entities\u2014that can interact with humanity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ephesians 6:12 warns that humanity\u2019s deepest struggle is not merely against flesh and blood, but against \u201cprincipalities,\u201d \u201cpowers,\u201d and \u201cspiritual wickedness in high places.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Daniel 10 describes an angelic messenger being opposed by a spiritual figure called the \u201cprince of the kingdom of Persia.\u201d The passage portrays unseen spiritual conflict operating alongside human political events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Second Corinthians 11:14 warns that \u201cSatan himself is transformed into an angel of light.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That verse is particularly significant to the UFO debate. It presents evil not merely as an obvious monster, but as something capable of appearing impressive, luminous, authoritative, and even benevolent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From a biblical perspective, therefore, an extraordinary being arriving in light and claiming superior knowledge would not automatically deserve humanity\u2019s trust.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Possibility of a Great Deception<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The New Testament repeatedly warns that the period preceding the return of Christ will involve deception on a massive scale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Second Thessalonians 2:9\u201311 describes the coming of the \u201clawless one\u201d with false signs, wonders, and a powerful delusion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Matthew 24:24 warns that false messiahs and false prophets will perform signs so convincing that, were it possible, even the elect could be deceived.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Revelation 13 describes spectacular signs being used to influence the world and redirect humanity\u2019s allegiance toward a global political and religious system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

None of these passages explicitly mentions spacecraft or extraterrestrials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Connecting them to UFOs requires interpretation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But proponents of the demonic hypothesis ask a provocative question: What kind of event could deceive much of the modern world at once?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A supposed revelation that humanity is being contacted by advanced extraterrestrial beings could produce one of the largest philosophical and religious shocks in history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If such beings claimed to have created humanity, guided ancient civilizations, inspired the world\u2019s religions, or returned to lead the planet into a new age, millions could view them as saviors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From the Christian perspective, however, that message could be the opposite of salvation\u2014a counterfeit revelation designed to displace God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Would Aliens Disprove Christianity?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Not necessarily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The discovery of extraterrestrial life would not logically prove that God does not exist. The Bible does not say Earth is the only place where God could create life, and many Christian theologians have considered the possibility of life elsewhere without seeing it as a threat to faith.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Vatican Observatory has openly discussed extraterrestrial life. Its scholars have argued that intelligent creatures elsewhere in creation would not inherently contradict belief in God. One former Vatican Observatory director stated that other intelligent beings could simply be additional creatures of the same Creator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That distinction matters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The danger envisioned by some Christians would not be the existence of extraterrestrial organisms. It would be the arrival of apparent beings carrying a deceptive spiritual message.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Microbial life on another planet would present a scientific and theological question.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Powerful beings demanding humanity\u2019s obedience would present an entirely different one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Researchers Who Question the Simple \u201cSpace Alien\u201d Explanation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The demonic interpretation remains a religious theory, but some serious UFO researchers have independently challenged the assumption that unexplained phenomena must involve physical visitors from distant planets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

French-American computer scientist and longtime UFO researcher Jacques Vall\u00e9e has argued for decades that the phenomenon may be stranger than ordinary extraterrestrial travel. He has compared modern UFO encounters with older reports of supernatural beings, apparitions, fairies, and religious experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vall\u00e9e has explored whether the phenomenon might operate as a kind of cultural or psychological \u201ccontrol system,\u201d adapting its appearance to the expectations of different societies. He has not concluded that UFOs are Christian demons, and his work should not be misrepresented that way. But he has argued that the extraterrestrial-spacecraft explanation may be too simplistic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The late John Mack, a Pulitzer Prize-winning biographer and Harvard Medical School psychiatrist, investigated people who reported alien-abduction experiences. Mack became convinced that many witnesses were not merely fabricating their accounts or suffering from obvious mental illness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, he ultimately described the phenomenon as more subtle and complicated than straightforward physical abduction by beings in mechanical spacecraft. His conclusions were controversial, and critics warned that hypnosis and recovered-memory techniques could produce unreliable accounts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These researchers did not prove the existence of demons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They did, however, contribute to a broader question: could the phenomenon involve consciousness, spiritual experience, psychological manipulation, or realities that do not fit neatly into the popular image of visitors from another planet?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Disturbing Similarities Reported by Witnesses<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Some accounts commonly labeled \u201calien encounters\u201d contain elements that religious observers find unsettling:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    These reports are anecdotal and cannot be treated as verified proof. Some may arise from sleep paralysis, dreams, psychological conditions, false memories, hoaxes, or cultural suggestion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Sleep paralysis in particular can produce a terrifying sense of presence, pressure, immobility, and vivid hallucinations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Yet proponents of the spiritual interpretation argue that the recurring religious character of some experiences deserves investigation rather than automatic dismissal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Their central argument is not that every unusual experience is demonic. It is that a civilization conditioned to interpret every nonhuman intelligence as extraterrestrial might be vulnerable to deception if the true origin were something else.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    What the Government and NASA Actually Say<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Despite decades of speculation, the United States government has not publicly confirmed that any UFO represents extraterrestrial technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    NASA\u2019s independent UAP study found no conclusive evidence in peer-reviewed scientific literature that UAP have an extraterrestrial origin. NASA also emphasizes that most reports contain too little reliable data to support firm conclusions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The Pentagon\u2019s All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office likewise says it has found no verified evidence of extraterrestrial technology. Its historical review concluded that investigated cases with sufficient information generally received ordinary explanations, although some incidents remain unresolved because the available evidence is inadequate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \u201cUnresolved\u201d does not mean extraterrestrial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    It also does not mean demonic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    It means investigators do not currently possess enough evidence to identify what occurred.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Could an \u201cAlien Revelation\u201d Become an End-Times Weapon?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    This is where Vance\u2019s comments intersect with biblical prophecy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Imagine a future event in which extraordinary beings\u2014or convincing technological simulations of them\u2014appear publicly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    They demonstrate knowledge beyond current human understanding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    They perform apparent signs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    They claim responsibility for humanity\u2019s creation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    They announce that the world\u2019s religions misunderstood ancient encounters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    They demand international unity under a new political and spiritual authority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    To a secular culture prepared by generations of films, television, government hearings, and UFO speculation, such a narrative might appear plausible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    To Christians who interpret Scripture literally, it might resemble the kind of spectacular deception described in Second Thessalonians and Revelation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    This remains a hypothetical scenario\u2014not evidence that such a plan currently exists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    It could also be manufactured entirely by human beings. Advanced drones, artificial intelligence, holographic imagery, deepfakes, psychological operations, and coordinated misinformation could potentially create convincing illusions without any supernatural involvement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The theological warning is broader than UFOs: Do not surrender judgment merely because something appears miraculous, technologically superior, or otherworldly.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The Strongest Objection to the Demonic Theory<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    There is still no publicly verified physical evidence demonstrating that demons are responsible for UFO sightings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    A theory cannot become fact merely because it fits a religious worldview.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Many reports likely have conventional explanations. Others may result from classified human technology, sensor error, unusual weather, misidentification, sleep-related experiences, or deliberate fabrication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Furthermore, Christians should be cautious about turning every mystery into a prophecy claim. Past generations incorrectly identified numerous technologies and political figures as definitive fulfillments of Revelation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The Bible calls for discernment, but discernment includes resisting sensationalism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Vance Has Opened a Conversation Larger Than UFOs<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    J.D. Vance\u2019s comments are notable not because they settle the UFO question, but because they challenge one of its most deeply embedded assumptions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Why must unexplained beings be travelers from another planet?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Could some experiences be psychological?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Could some involve classified technology?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Could some be spiritual?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Could the modern \u201calien\u201d narrative itself become a vehicle for political manipulation or religious deception?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Science has not confirmed extraterrestrial visitation. Theology has not proven that UFOs are demons. The available evidence does not justify certainty in either direction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    But the Bible\u2019s warnings about deceptive signs, spiritual beings, and counterfeit messengers mean that Vance\u2019s theory cannot be dismissed as though Christianity has nothing relevant to say.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Perhaps UFOs are misunderstood natural events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Perhaps some are secret aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Perhaps intelligent life exists elsewhere in God\u2019s creation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Or perhaps humanity is being conditioned to welcome something it does not understand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The final and most unsettling question may not be whether something is coming from the sky.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    It may be this:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    When it arrives, how will humanity decide whether it is telling the truth?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
